Angel Peak Scenic Area

No-fee primitive campsites 15 miles south of Bloomfield, NM; turn east on County Road 7175, go approximately 6 miles. Angel Peak Campground has nine sites available for tent camping, each with picnic tables on a concrete underfoot, gravel pathways, and fire grates.

Carson National Forest (Jacarilla District)

No-fee primitive campsites 40 miles east of Bloomfield on HWY 64; turn south on Forest Service 314 or north on Forest Service 310. Camp anywhere 300 feet off of Forest Service Roads.

Navajo Lake State Park Campgrounds

Fee-based campgrounds around Navajo Lake State Park Visitor Center include Cottonwood Campground and Sims Mesa Campground. Cottonwood Campground is located off of County Road 4280 just west of Navajo Dam City. Sims Mesa Campground is located across the lake from the marina and can be the accessed off of NM Hwy. 64.
