Farmington is located 12 miles west of Aztec on N.M. 516. Whether staying in Aztec or Farmington, enjoy a nice evening stroll along the Animas River by visiting Farmington's Animas River Trails. The walk can be a simple out an back from the various parking locations or create various loops. The trail system incorporates some 7.5 miles, is relatively level, and used by pedestrians and mountain bikers.
