The Animas Museum is owned and operated by the La Plata County Historical Society, who transformed the 1904 Animas City School building into a local history museum. The Museum offers a variety of exhibits including a restored 1905 classroom, true life stories of local wild west characters, and a Native American gallery, to list a few.
