The Puye Cliff Dwellings,a place between earth and sky, is the ancestral home of the Santa Clara Pueblo people. Puye (pronounced poo yay) means the "place where rabbits gather" was first settled around 900 AD. Occupation continued well into the early 1600's until the Santa Clara Pueblo people migrated closer to the Rio Grande river valley.

Visitors have the opportunity to tour the Harvey House (visitor center and exhibit) and a section of the cliff dwellings. One and tow-hour guided tours of the cliff dwellings and mesa top are also available at an additional fee.
