Aztec boasts over 30 miles of mountain bike trails that range from rugged, pinon tree and desert scrub badlands to playful slickrock areas to heart-thumping single tracks. At the forefront is the Alien Run Trails, ranked among the more technically challenging and scenic mountain bike trails in the Four Corners. Routed near an alleged UFO crash site and annual stage for the celebrated Alien Run Mountain Bike Competition, "The Alien Run" can be navigated by beginners yet is immensely challenging for experts. Based on the MTB Project, Alien Run is ranked #1 in Northwest New Mexico and #17 in all of New Mexico!
